Magic carpet ride

Well, as you may have guessed from the title the carpet has now been installed :-) here are some pics of it in the home theatre and the study:

Unfortunately, I couldn't get any really good shots as the house is fully locked up now, but we will be in soon enough. The inside of the home theatre doors are meant to be painted the dark colour of the trim, so that still needs to be done, hopefully they make sure to cover up the carpet really well before they paint them...

The finishing touches are slowly being done now too including the exterior paintwork, the paintwork on the cladding has now been completed but there is still some work to be done around the trim of the balcony and in the alfresco areas. Here's what the house now looks like in its fully glory:

I think that the kitchen is really going to end up being the showpiece of the house with the bright red splashback offsetting the neutral colours where have everywhere else. We have gone for the neutral colours everywhere to allow us to be able to create feature areas by using colourful paintings and other items that can easily be removed when our tastes change so that we can give the house a whole new fresh feel every now and then.

Now that the exterior painting has almost been completed here are some new pics of the back of the house, there are still solar PV panels to be installed but that will be done on handover. 

So we now have just over a week to go until our final inspection, phew!
