Unconditional land

It has been a big week, the land has now gone unconditional and we have now received a draft plan of the house from the builder.

Another plus is that we have finally finished our 26 page House Changes document (it was 44!) outlining to the builder room by room what we want in the house including pictures shamelessly taken at other display homes :-)

So they should now be able to give us more of an accurate quote and we can go to the bank with it and get things rolling once the land settles in August.

We went out to the block again last weekend and worked out that we would ideally like to have earthworks completed up to 50 meters back from the start of the building envelope, this should allow for the shed and future pool. We figure that we can then fence/section off that area from the rest of the block and have that as our main house area as the rest of the block is mainly protected bush.

We also went tile and bathroom shopping and got samples of the floor and wall tiles we would like, we were originally thinking of a black tile for the floor, but now think that we will go with a grey instead with 1.5mm epoxy grout.

Another thing we still need to think of is our electrical plan, as we need to talk directly with the electrician regarding this, so we will need to work out the types of lighting we want for each room, plus the location and number of light switches and power points. Not to mention the network cabling and in ceiling speaker placement plus finalising what interior paint colours we want, aarrrgggghhhhhh so many things and we haven’t even got the building quote yet!

Oh well, we will just need to take it in our stride.
