Tripping the light fantastic

After a leisurely Sunday breakfast at a local café we were heading off to look at car audio gear at JB HiFi when we happened across a lighting store, we decided to go in “just to have a browse at ideas” as all good shopping experiences go 3 hours later we ended up buying all the lighting for our new house…

So, let me introduce you to our lights:

The feature light in our living area, appropriately called the Asteroid:

And it’s matching little brother the Meteor, which we will use in the dining and the study:

After originally choosing a white pendant light for the kitchen island we ended up changing to this sliver pendant, we will have 3 in total:

With this 4 point multispot above the cooktop and the fridge area:

We chose these wall lights for the Home Theatre, the entry way and the wall above the stairs. Some eagle-eyed people may note that the wall lights also match the kitchen pendants

We also went with these single spots to light up our feature paintings/posters in the hallway; these match the multispots in the kitchen

The 4 stair lights will be these LED ones:

For the rest of the interior lighting we have gone with these oyster lights, we quite liked the fact that the outside ring glowed on them

Outside we have gone for this oyster light which is nicely sealed to avoid those pesky insects getting caught inside:

And these updown lights for the garage and front entry areas:

For the future decking we got some sets of LED lights in blue that will be a nice feature in the alfresco/patio area:

There was also a great selection of paintings and other decorative items, we resisted most but couldn’t go past this mirror to go in the hallway niche and this floor standing cherry blossom lamp with white light that we will use in the living area, we got a smaller version of it to use as a table lamp as well.

Oh for those interested, no, we didn’t make it to JB HiFi in the end…….
