Semi-Infomercial below....
A few weekends ago, in preparation for the gyprock going on we spent a Saturday running audio cables throughout the house, we ordered 200m of standard speaker wire for the living, outdoor and bedrooms from Selby Acoustics and went with higher quality speaker, subwoofer and HDMI cables from Blue Jeans Cables who are based in the US for the home theatre.
Here's the cable before we started:
We ended up erring on the side of caution and wired for 9.2 speakers in the home theatre, we currently have a 7.1 system but thought it best to add more cabling just in case we upgrade in the future, with the home theatre being on the ground floor it would be pretty difficult to run the wire later.
This is what the back of the home theatre looked like after all the electrical, audio and network wiring was run, we made sure to take plenty of pics to help us remember which cable is which :-)
During fit out stage we will be using the following jack points and connectors from 4Cabling, black ones for the home theatre and white for everywhere else
We purchased the in-ceiling and outdoor speakers for the house a while back from Eastwood HiFi in Sydney. The Yamaha ones will go out in the patio area and where the future pool will be and the Paradigm in-ceilings are for the living and gym/TV room as the rear speakers. Here they are eagerly waiting for the house to be completed so they can be installed.....
