Don't fence me in

It’s about time for another update from us.

The posts for the estate provided fences have gone in at the front of our block a couple of weeks ago, so with any luck the rest will be done by the next time we are out there and we can take pics of the completed job.

In slightly more exciting news, we had word from the builder this week that they are 90% of the way through the quote for our design, apparently they are waiting on their cabinetmakers to return to the office to give the final price for the large amount of inbuilt items like the study desks, wardrobe and pantry in our design. So, with any luck we will finally get a good idea of the price, we are definitely bracing ourselves for a big number first off and will no doubt have to make some compromises.

Of course, in the mean time while we’ve been waiting for the quote we have thought of many more changes to our design which will mean that the quote will need to be modified to suit, we have let the builder know we want to change things but understandably they have asked to be allowed to complete the original quote first then sit down to discuss the changes.

Compared to the original design in earlier posts the gym and front bedrooms, we figured that for potential future resale value it would be a good idea to have 4 bedrooms plus a "kids retreat" which we will use for a gym for us. In terms of floor space, it hasn't really added much to the overall house as the original bedrooms were quite large.

So now we continue the waiting game and hope that once the quote is in we can quickly progress to signing a contract and finally getting the build started. Luckily for us the block is already titled and registered so there shouldn’t be any council hold-ups in that area.
