We spent this past Saturday out at the house with our data cablers Sean and Jamie from Smartwired Solutions getting everything sorted before the gyprock goes on.
In total we are installing 42 network points in the house, with 8 of those being in the home theatre and a minimum of 2 in each of the other rooms. We are also putting in security cameras, wireless access points and an intercom system – a big thanks to them for accommodating the last minute decision on the intercom :-)
The guys did a fantastic (and very tidy) job running literally hundreds of metres of CAT6 cable throughout the house whilst providing hours of entertainment with their friendly banter.
All up it took about 6 hours to run the cable to all the different points and they will be back again at fit out stage to do all the punch down work into the patch panels and the wall jacks (not our idea of fun) but it seems to be Sean's......
